Um, HELLO, wine is always good and cookies are always good.

although, in my own non-alcoholic defense....I tried a new wine. The one I needed the corkscrew for? Well, today during my storm rations shopping, i picked one up. And tried that wine out tonight. Oy vey it was HORRIBLE. SO sweet and disgusting. I actually dumped the rest of my glass after a sip or two and will give the entire bottle to a coworker who loves the stuff. It is "local" and.....NOT GOOD. Give me my boxed amazingness anytime!

Sent the old dogs back outside. Poor toby immediately fell down when he went out. He was barely able to scramble back up and then fell down again trying to come back in. He is not good at ice, apparently. He is old and has a one track mind. OMG MUST HAVE WATER. OMG MUST HAVE FOOD. OMG MUST GO PEE. He runs from place to place. There is no walking in TobyLand. Poor senile old coot.

Hey, but in all seriousness, you be darned careful out there Missy!! I do NOT want to hear that you went head first down those stairs of yours and ended up in the hospital! NO! NOPE! NUU-UUH! Don't you do it!!
old.gif
Put a plastic bag on your butt and scoot around the yard that way. And stay down there till you get back to the door of your house and are safely back inside! Other than to tend to the chickens, I can't think of a single thing out there that is so important as to go about risking life and limb! You just stay put, ya hear me?!?! NELLA BEAN! Are you even listening to me???? **wanders off muttering under my breath: galdarnlittlemissknowitall! Shesgonnabreakhertailboneorworse. Hipsurgeryherewecome!

** Don't say I didn't warn ya!!!

Oh believe me, I am going to be careful! It is just ice out there. Kind of fun to walk on in crocks...I can slide like I'm wearing ice skates.

Ice? Yep. See how shiny? Its all frozen rain aka ICE. Yuck.

I bought rock salt for roads today and my steps going down hill melted. SOO I put some in the ruts of the road where it had not thawed. Yeh It was melting too, at 5 pm. Now they are telling us more ice this time. I hope it keeps working through the night. I do not enjoy sliding on ice. Nella please

please be careful. Falls can be fatal . Gloria Jean

WOW, Nella .... that is a layer of ice, for sure! You REALLY need to be careful ..... especially since you are so clumsy and all anyway.

Gloria Jean, You watch out for that ice, too! You do not need to falling and getting hurt.

Careful, careful, careful ...... all of you in the icky wintery ice and snow.

Ya know.....that kind of begs the question there Miss Kathy! How is it, that in Missouri, known for some brutal winters of your own, you are sitting there, relatively high and dry and enjoying mild temperatures? Huh? Huh? Huh? Why is that Miss Kathy? You got some special connections we should all know about?? Huh? Huh? Huh? Inquiring minds MUST know the answer to this! NOW!

Gawds! Yer gonna go soft in all that mild weather woman! And when the really bad stuff hits, you're not gonna know what to do with yourself!!

Well, it's just cold here. Quiet but cold. Around 25 right now. Not even the hint of a breeze. All the babies are safely tucked away in their respective coops, with full bellies, thanks to a late night snack!

I think I'm going to start doing that on a fairly regular basis and see what that does for everyone. When it gets really cold, I always feel like it's a struggle for them to get enough protein and calories just to keep their internal heaters going! Anybody have any good suggestions on how to boost protein levels inexpensively? The feed bill for the last month has already topped the $100 mark.

How about dry dog food? They sure love the stuff, but I don't know if that's just a bit too much protein or what.

Your thoughts, as always, are welcome!

Nighty night y'all!

I'll catch up with you guys tomorrow at some point. Have a safe and warm Thursday!

I'm sure my days of blustery winter are coming. I am sure enjoying what I have while I can!

I could only hope for that..... I think I average about one full bag of feed a day. I think it is recommended to use cat food rather that dog food, for extra protein. I believe dog food has more sodium than is really wanted. However, I will tell you, my birds love sharing Tyson's dog food. It is really cute.... they take turns taking bites.

Our cat has her food in the garage, so the chickens never get to that .... I am sure they would love it though.

Well ya'll are breaking my heart.....40 degrees on one side ice down south and I got blowing snow, sleet, ice and freezing rain.... do the words "Bite Me" mean anything to you two?

I had to giggle as I was reading your post ....
It is no longer Severus, it is "stupid Severus."
It reminded my of my rebellious sister. She used to always say to her son, "Dam* it, Derrick, blah blah, blah....." My father told her she needed to stop that or he would think his name was, "Dam* It Derrick."

Nice Christmas decor there, Ladyhawk! Lookin' good!

The snow ..... no, not so good ...... You keep it. I want nothing to do with that crap!

LOL reminds me of Bill Cosby when he did his piece on he and his brother growing up and they thought their names were "Dam It" and "Jesus Christ" and he says his dad yells at him one day "Dam It come here" and he said "but Daaaaad I'm Jesus Christ".
gig.gif

Any rooster crowing at 2:45 in the morning is stupid....LOL he does it all the time, the idiot.
