sheps4her, I have 7 Delaware eggs in the bator and am planning to sell all the chicks that hatch. I see you're in NC, though not sure where that county is. I have another dozen eggs to set, 5 Dellies and 7 Orps. Hopefully, Suede has gotten lucky enough since I set the others.

Wow this thread took off. My hens still have the head shaking runny noses , no noticeable change. No other symptoms, 18 laid 15 eggs yesterday. I have been cleanning coops yesterday and putting in new shavings. I had already done the poop boards. I took out about 7 big leaf bags. It was not that old, only three weeks for the flooring and only a wk for the boards.. There was a mix of lots of hay and shavings. I decided that maybe it was the hay bothering them. Im afraid it has not worked. I will call the NPIP tech. tomorrow and see if they are going to come out to test. They do not appear that sick just this clear lig. with head slinging. Yuck. My poor babies.

btw, this is Ivy, my oldest BR, at 15 weeks old. Well, she was the oldest till she died recently. I miss her.



Am thinking what to name my little D'Uccle rooster. Found out that Wyatt means "little warrior". I think that's cute, what do you think? Still thinking, though. Beau is cute, too, very southern. Was thinking about Robin and Wren for the little ladies with him. I've always named my birds because it's just easier to refer to them in one word than something like, "that little rooster with the wonky feather on his left side", LOL.

Cyn, what am I not seeing?

I finally got word this morning... I go for the ultrasound tomorrow morning and then see a surgeon in the afternoon. Did i mention that my FIL almost died last summer from a ruptured gallbladder because they could not fit him in for the day they do those surgeries? I really don't like the "medical service" we have.

It won't let me go to Page 75, but I think I know the passages you're talking about, about positive black? My contention is that, no matter what the books say, my experience is different, as I suspect most folks' experiences are than the genetics bible. I just saw that pic of Ivy on a thread and it made me chuckle.

I'm with you Cyn. I have one BR left from the Wheeler birds and in the sunshine...green sheen. My Columbians have the same. Now Pepper is more "grey" than black, esp in his tail feathers
