It's for FRANK THE ROOSTER. He is stunted.....looks like a 3 month old baby and is actually probably close to a year old now. Bantam gold laced cochin. He is my boyfriend's "chicken". He will look AMAZING in that saddle.

Stew #2 my favorite chicken EVER gets the one of the regular sized ones and I think I will give the other to the half blind leghorn/giant hen, just cause she is awesome.

SUPERCHICKEN AHOY.

Omigosh, I think in order to save my little man from the shame of clothing and the Barbie Dream Car, I'll have to tell DH to choose between Beau and Wyatt!

I already have names for my porcelain D'Uccles and they aren't even yolks yet! No, I won't tell.

Oh, crap. DH has come up with a name for the little guy. He said we already call Shadow "The Princess", so why not call him Prince Valiant? You can tell what old movies he watches. He said, "He is going to be Shadow's hubby, right?"

Not sure I want to envision a D'Uccle with a pageboy haircut.

It says, "In the cockerel-bred more or less metallic will often be found on the wing bars, tail coverts and sickle feathers. This metallic shows as a greenish cast in the dark bars of the feathers and is a defect which should be guarded against.........."

So, what we are seeing is, "metallic!"

So I was right and I don't have barred rocks.

To add to this, the only things I did are the charity and the egg emails... Gah.

As far as my SOP, Nugget just failed by going broody twice in a year. Bad Nuggs!

OH MY ! ! ! Does that mean Nugget is a cull?

"Cull, cull, cull." "Cull heavily." Sometimes I hate to hear those phrases.

Don't get me wrong, I do understand it.... and, honestly, I know I will need to do so, many times.

Nugget has earned her place here, no matter how many times she gets the motherhood urge. She's a sweetie. I'm not breeding for anything except my own enjoyment anyway.

I like Beau, too. It means "handsome". Fits! Beau it is. Now, since P. G. T. Beauregard was a Confederate general, maybe we should find southern belle names for his girls. Ooooh, oooh, I have it!!! How about for one of them JoBeth! In honor of Joleta and Beth. Isn't that cute and southern?! Goes with Beau, too! Just need one more.
