While I understand the mite business, you can expect to have to replace the plastic coop at some point and time. This is why you don't see to many plastic antique lawn chairs. And I will mention plastic is not biodegradable.
There was an article in the Practical Poultry magazine on plastic coops but there was no mention of it's durability as they are new and there is no evidence on how long they will last.
