Great news here.... The robins and redwinged blackbirds are back!!!

Spring is finally coming!!!

It has been a beautiful sunny past couple of days, the snow is melting and it might get near 50 degrees this week. It is also supposed to rain so that will help the snow to melt too.
We also saw a Bald Eagle yesterday!!

All the babies are adorable, everyone. Hey, who is hearing about Japan? It is just devastating, isn't it? Making me cry. These poor people.

Any ideas on this chick? I'm thinking ROO, ROO ROO, but people are telling me otherwise.

Right now, I'm leaning toward pullet, but the pink wattles are making me hesitate. I recall one time that I was positive of the sex of a bunch of Del chicks, someone came to get the extra roosters and I kept counting, wondering why there was one more boy in the crate than I thought I had--it was a very late-blooming male. The body on your chick looks more female right now.

The combs have been pretty good for the most part in the last few Del chicks hatched here. I noticed that nice little comb on it, too.

Well, gotta tell ya.

Took two doz. eggs to Alabama, one for the GK's and one of Delawares for a friend to hatch. She just let me know that only two are clear the others are doing good. These did go through the x-ray. I didn't know about the x-ray thing so apparently it doesn't bother them.
I expect the clears were from the jossiling. I did have them in my carry on and wrapped in bubble wrap but they probably got joseled (i'm to tired to look up the spelling) putting them under the seat.

Anyhow just thought you'd like to know. I did have the ones she gave me hand checked and haven't candled them yet. Oh and she won a prize with her Silky in a show this past weekend.
