Well i hold them - sing to them give them yogurt and STILL i am a predator! I dont know ....perhaps the breed - kind of disappointing as i hatched them - i turned them three times a day! After all the things i do for you! LOL

ungrateful children! Give them time too...that big ole hand coming in to get them has got to be scarey. Give them time...they will love you.

I keep mine right in the livingroom between our two recliners so they are used to seeing us and hearing our voices so that could be part of it as well.

I think that SP's are gorgeous. If you get it, LH, I'm sure you'll be very happy!

I am so excited that there is a new Suede (Adonis) around. Maybe you can hatch his kids someday and get a blue boy too.

Cute Silkie moms! This little week old Silver Phoenix girl never shuts up. She's either chirping loudly for attention or she's singing while she eats and explores. She and Adonis are running all over together while poor Molly just sleeps. This Phoenix is as friendly as a Delaware baby! She is already flying to the top of the waterer and up to the little roost, a full week before I've seen any chicks get up there. Had to close the top of the brooder.

Kathy... OMG... Adorableness! Ak! That brownish coloring on the mama in pic #1 is really lovely, to me. Is that just the flash?

I put down little Luno. R.I.P. :'( It was good that I used the paper towel, I tell ya. Blood everywhere. Poor thing.

I am taking some pics of the others individually. Will post later.

Yep, guess so. Since I've decided not to vaccinate, bio-security is STRICT around here now. Everyone who comes has to sanitize their hands, spray their shoes, and if they own chickens they have to change clothes before they come! I am finding that besides vaccination, bio-security, ventilation and keeping the coop clean/dry is the best way to avoid large problems. And I hope to close the flock when I have everything that I want moved in.

So when are you setting the eggs for your big March hatch?
