That Snow is gorgeous. And yay I cannot wait to get my eggs from you in May...they are so sweet sounding which means another rooster to hug. YAY!

Brandon that is a good hatch to start with and they are adorable chicks. Congrats.

I am taking Cyn's suggestion/order/command the black and white frizzled baby is officially named "Tux".

I wasn't going to get anymore Wyandottes after losing four to internal laying, all hatchery stock of course. Lost Lacy, Lorelei, Violet and Vada, but I always loved the BLRWs and the breeder quality SLWs. They were shaped like they should be with proper size on them. And Kathy, you little minx, has bestowed some of these beauties upon me so I have the real deal now, three SLWs and three BLRWs. Hope at least one of each color is a pullet.

LH, yea for Tux! Perfect name for that baby, in honor of my late, great Tux who had a similar appearance as a tiny pullet chick.

I think everyone remembers my "hunting club rescue kitty", Louie, who was to "REMAIN OUTSIDE" per DWs instructions. I got home from work the other day and couldn't find him....he normally "runs" to meet me at the truck.

Well....he was found, safe and sound

Have a great day!

hehehehehehe Scott that is what happened here to...it was going to live in the BARN yeah uh huh

Thunderstorms here, and my satellite server keeps going off.

Fox here today. OMG! I was outside working and ran in to get a drink. I went right back out, and there he stood .... at the fence, licking his lips and looking at my babies! I yelled and Cody was near by. He ran in and got the gun. He and the neighbor went through the timber hunting for it. They found it near the lake behind our house. They shot, but missed.

OH, this could have been sooooo bad! Thank heavens my Barred Rocks were not out free ranging today. However, the Coronation Sussex and Orps were! They were in different areas, not at the back facing the water. OHHHHH, I am soooo happy they are all safe!

Thunderstorms to continue tomorrow. I am keeping everyone locked up.

Holy Catfish Kathy!! I'm so glad he didn't get any of your babies! That would have been positively tragic! I know just how you feel every time I see a stray dog in the neighborhood, trotting down the road like they own the place! I'd lock them up too, if it were me. And mine are only mutts!

Any time I see the bad hawk, stray dogs or even known dogs that I don't trust, everyone gets locked up for a few days. It's worth every bit of discomfort and disappointment for my birds if it saves even one of my baby's life! Hopefully, Mr. Fox took the hint and headed out of the neighborhood. They're very smart little critters after all. Cheeky little bstrds too!

If the bullet came anywhere near him, he likely got the idea that he's not welcome! Besides, there's probably another flock a half mile up the road where the owners aren't nearly as vigilant and the pickings are much easier!

They can be such opportunists! Keeping everything crossed that he doesn't come back!
