All is well here. No damage at all... So glad! I am watching the news about Alabama, wow. How tragic. People screaming, running, crying, hugging, the News Channel cameraman praying during filming the tornado. Horrible!

Royal Wedding tomorrow! Can't wait to watch.

I'm not sure Kathy. It's looking more and more like I'm gonna have to build three new little coops instead of just two! You know me. I love my boys. Even the adolescent toe rag ones!! Someday he'll grow up and need girls of his own. He's actually not such a bad little guy, now that all of his aunties have done such a bang up job of completely deflating his ego.

Oh, and guess who is showing signs of maybe going broody now!?! Maggie!!

I'm not sure yet, but she sure is acting strange. She has always been a very active little girl, but the last couple of days she's been running hellbent for election here, there and everywhere. Not to mention she seems to spend an inordinate amount of time under the table saw just scratching around and wriggling her butt around in there.

So, you tell me. Sound familiar?

Oh yeah, almost forgot....the boys go positively NUTS anytime she walks by their yard. Much more so than when one of the other girls walks by!

Goodnight Amy, Kathy, Cyn, Nella, Brandon, Gloria Jean, everyone. Glad you all are okay.

It's day 20 on my hatch, by the way. I last checked at around 7PM, and no pips or cheeps. I doubt that I'll have anything. Oh well.

My broody hatch is due on 4/30. I hear peeping! It is 3 bantam mottled cochins sitting on....some eggs. LOL. I can't remember how many. Blue eggs, chocolate eggs, green eggs. I hear definite peeping!

My barred cochin crazy broody girl is broody again. She was broody at least 3 times last year. She acted like she might go broody a week or so ago but then didn't. Now she definitely is. Sigh.

Ya know, Nick, my suggestion to you is this ....
You are new to incubating. Your first experience has not been a good one. Do not go out and buy expensive eggs to experiment with. Get some cheap eggs from the farmer's market or something. Try that. Once you get the incubation process perfected, THEN buy eggs of breeds you are interested in.

My family, personal property and chickens are fine and I feel fortunate. We are not totally leveled, but some areas are. There is a path through town that is devastated and will take some time to regroup, but we are doing what it takes and will get through it. Right now the National Guard and outside agencies are arriving by the bus load and your prayers are what we need most. I am a first responder, working 12 hour shifts, and all off time has been canceled. It will be a long hard recovery but we're tough!
