Kathy, your little Olive sounds just like my little Gimpy was. Everywhere I went in the yard, there was Gimpy, right behind me. If I sat down on the lawn to work in the flower bed, she'd be right there, helping me to till the soils over. Such a wonderful companion around the yard she was!
I still miss her so much.
The reason that I want each of the boys to have their own coop is so that they can have their own little flock of about 3 to 5 hens each. The main coop isn't big enough to accommodate that many chickens all at the same time, and if I tried to put just three girls in with the boys there would surely be mayhem and bloodshed!
So, it's new coops or nothing at all for the boys. I do love them so much. I admit it. I'm a pushover for my guys.
I just want to do everything within my power to give them each a rich and fulfilling life!
Send some of that heat my way please! We had a beautiful weekend, but the clouds have rolled in once again this evening, and they're saying that we're going to have T-storms and heavy showers off and on through the rest of the week.
Oh well, it was great while it lasted, and everyone got a chance to take great dust baths during the brief warm spell. Though I'm sure that's going to make for some little mud balls by tomorrow, when it starts to rain in earnest!
