LH, sorry, but I won't be bring Kodi with me when I head south. I think it will be too hot for him and besides that I will be riding with my sister, her daughter, and her two grandbabies [ages 1 & 2 ]. There won't be any room for him and he is not sitting on my lap. Love the pics!! Love the pretty blue color on the earlobe too.

Amy, I agree with you about an obedient dog. I was surprised that he learned so fast, especially since three other dogs were there to distract him. I was thinking about giving you a call but I will wait till your Mom has left. Enjoy your visit, we will be here when she leaves.

Kathy, is that the same BR that had the scary evil eye??

So sorry about this, Kathy.

Thank the Lord we live on a small mtn. We had a huge gully-washer tonight, must have had 3" in about 10 minutes, but it was drained away in about 5 minutes after the worst of it quit (still thundering and raining, though). I think we may just have to stay put since it seems to be a fairly safe location right here on our little spot.

Kathy I am so so sorry. I pray your boys and family are okay and that they remain safe. Please keep us posted.

Oh my, That is terrible to look at; much less live through. Your family remains in our prayers. Love heaps Gloria Jean

Can you all help me out with this? This Barred Rock mama. I am just not sure what to think of her. Honestly, she is not the nurturing type. However, it cooled down, like there is about to be a downpour or storm. She does sit down and warm them a bit. Most of the time she is just up walking about and not even talking to them. It is like she is ignoring them. I dunno, is she just "hardening them off?" I don't get it. I am afraid to take the babies away, after that last one. What would you do? These babies are only a week old.

Kathy, my thoughts and prayers go out to you and your family.

I don't know what to say about the BR mama. Maybe keep her penned up with the babies? I had a broody EE last year that was done playing Mama after three weeks. I had to seperate the babies and put them in a brooder for a bit.

Well, they are in a covered pen, with their own little coop. I just worry about those chicks. Hmmm, guess I will just keep watching them. I thought about opening the gate and see if she (broody) leaves them. That would be a test, of sorts.

Kathy, is that from the same flooding thats been going on the Mississippi??? Where is all that water coming from??

I must be retarded, but I dont understand how it can flood like that. The Mississippi River drains into the gulf, its not like its a lake overflowing. Anyway, I hope you're on high ground, Kathy.
