Most of my De/ee crosses have the del pattern and the whiskers. I have a couple of barred and they lay a beige egg, so I'm not sure it's good to get colored eggs.

Tim, it depends on the comb you get. Ladyhawk's little Hedwig died with her first too large egg inside of her and it was green-she had a pea comb. Junebug, her current one that is the sister to this cockerel, has a single comb, so she will probably lay a beige egg.

I haven't really checked the combs. I'll have to get pics. I've to two hens with lavender Amer in them and both lay beige. I'm not sure who the mother cross is. One is a bO I think and she just started laying and lays a beige egg. I have a Lav Amer roo and hope to cross him with all the EE hens I have. It's just to late in the year to hatch.

I'm still working on two hoop coops and I've 13 BRs from Kathy to go in one and A mix flock of Lord only knows how many for the other. I've nearly 70 birds now. I figured 25 would be enough when I started. My flock of Dels alone is 21 hens with 2 roos. I do have a white , black orp roo to go some where but no one here wants them. They are from Jody and very nice. Also I'm wondering whether or not to give up the Lav orp roo and just breed with the best of the blacks.
