Okay day from hell here. First, ahem
Jo...went to hook up her new fan and feed her to find several abrasions down her front left cannon bone and pastern...bleeding and flesh exposed in several places. So...washed it up and called vet requesting a phone consult.
Garage, fed watered and put everyone out for the day...including ducks.
Big coop...went to feed water and release found my silkie, Pamela down...clear case of heat stroke...so I was carrying her to the house when Lancelot began alarming in back...I yelled for Cheyenne and started running downhill when I saw Lancelot and the fox fighting. I sat Pamela down and headed for Lancelot.
The fox had Lancelot by either the leg or the chest and Lancelot had the fox by the back...I can tell you that my heart was pounding out of my chest...my lone Ancona, Mounds came running by and the fox turned and grabbed her by the neck and carried her off into the woods. I knew I could not help my duck so I ran to Lancelot to find him bleeding and so mad I cannot describe it. I grabbed him up and he bit me twice...but I ran to the house with him and to the kitchen sink.
He bit me twice trying to check him over and clean him up. He had nasty puncture type bite wounds on his thigh and chest. But no other injuries.
The vet called back and said he would look at Lancelot's wounds when he came to check Jo. Then I called Cyn. We were chatting when cheyenne yelled that Mounds was back...she was near the front porch and ticked off ... flared up and mean. LOL
So vet came, Jo is good, lancelot is good, Mounds is good and Pamela is dying. He gave me an injection of pain meds for Jo and Lancelot and some strong electrolyte stuff for Pamela. And the bill for this...$3. I gave him $10. LOL. He said he loves visiting Jo and I had already done everything so he just charged me for the electrolyte stuff, not the injection or farm visit.
I swear his summer is going to be the death of me. Now off to check Lancelot and Jo. Later all
