Tried to get get pix of my beauty but was too far away. She is very similar to a blue wheaten....has silver blue columbian markings around neck. I just love her. She is half cochin, probably half olive egger.

Slightly better pix of her. She reminds me a lot of a coronation sussex.....crossed with a blue wheaten ameraucana. I just LOVE that coloring. This is the 3rd bird I have hatched out who looked like this, but the only one I ever kept. Wish I had kept the last two!! I don't have the olive egger hen they hatched out of anymore either. I do have one more young one who is similarly colored but with a darker reddish partridge undertone instead of the light wheaten color. Considering keeping her.......

I had to zoom way in so they are blurry, but give better idea of her coloring.

She really is stunning in person. Its just a very pretty mix of colors.

I think i will keep her, the darker partridgey similar one, plus the 3 leghorn/cochin white/black spotted ones. I want to try to cross the spotted ones back to the cochin dad and make white/black spotted COCHINS. Wouldnt that be pretty?

Ya know, I was just thinking about this.....
I think the prettiest chicken I ever had was a mutt. I have no idea what he was, really. We named him Obama. He was so beautiful. I think about him often. I still miss him.

LH, I'm sooo sorry sweetie! The day simply got away on me completely. **insert penitent pouting face here** I feel especially bad about missing your call. Call me again, and I promise I'll answer this time. Go ahead! I DARE YA!!!

Well, been a looooong day, and I'll fill y'all in on it later. But, right now, I need to make a few phone calls to some adds placed in the local BST section of our weekly paper. Keep your fingers crossed kids.

If all goes well, I'll be able to finally fulfill my promise to at least one of my boys of getting them a flock all of their own!

You tempt me. Actually, I think she is going to a guy that wants a few chickens for his little granddaughter. I was looking around today, and I see quite a few grow outs I can let go. Some of those darn Orps still have me guessing on their sex though. I am keeping only the females, not counting my four 100% Imported English boys. I will grow them out a bit longer before deciding which 2 to keep.
