Cammy was just thrilled to hear the news, too.

54 Project eggs have hatched. 11 are yellow or buff. That is only 20%. Take out the 2 or 3 (or possibly 4) buffs, and the percentage drops even lower. My percentage was much higher on the first hatch (of yellow chicks).

I also have 7 Silkies that are 3 months old looking for a home. 2 black, the others are blue.

Just checked in quick (I am at work, busy day) to see how the hatch is going, and I find out lots of things! Kathy, those are still good numbers when you look at the percentages the geneticists gave you - who is that little feather legged cutie??? You will have quite a good number once all your hatches are done- you can do alot with even 5 or 6 pullets!

Gloria Jean, hope you get better fast, those stings hurt!

Cyn, at least its free fire wood! And I would do something about your little flying girls - my Harter Del girls make it 5 feet and end up in Impy's pen. So far he is being a gentleman, but they are starting to squat, so who knows! I need to get out there and run the wire fencing up to the top - 6+ feet for these girls. And they will fly out when you are gone, it's Murphy's law.

LH- take care- I will email you.

Knox, look out, she will send you all sorts of wonderful surprises!

That feather legged cutie is a Silkie. I do not want any more Silkies!

Yes, 5 or 6 pullets would be great! Hoping for what I need for the F3s!

8 are yellow, 3 are buff colored. LOTS of barred and blacks.

This is turning out to be a great hatch.

I took a picture of the 3 buffs, but I do not like this camera (or it doesn't like me) and the photo is not so great.
In the brooder tub there are also 2 New Hampshires (leg banded). Still more pips.

Do you think I got some of ALL of these:
Barred; Black; Delaware; Split gold/silver males; Buff Columbian; Barred Buff Columbian & Silver Columbian (the last will be pullets)....

F2 hatching update stats.....

64 Total Project eggs set. 6 still left not pipped.

Of the 58 that hatched, I got:
45 black or barred
10 yellow
3 buff

I also hatched 3 New Hampshires and 2 Barred Rocks, and 1 Silkie.
2 people have come and gone already, taking ALL the barred and black chicks and the 1 Silkie.

So, I am left with only the yellow and buff chicks, and one black one that is still wet (couldn't send it out wet).
