How DARE he hurt our Jo!! Omigosh, what nerve he has to even try to call you again!

Cetawin, I cannot believe the nerve of this guy- keep your eyes open, he could be a real creep and show up and do something. What a slimeball!
Jo has NEVER needed shoes, ever, ever, ever, just a farrier that knows how to trim her!!!!! You have a jewel in your man, keep him! He knows what he is talking about. And he caught the thrush in time - if there was just a slight smell, he will have cleaned it out, and without stupid pads and shoes, the air and good earth will keep her clean.

Kathy, I am so glad you have Tyler there to take care of things- I wonder if Gloria Jean has the right of it with the younger ones being taught to hunt? Maybe you need to get an LGD as well as your other good dogs? My much missed GSD, Ransom, used to kill possums for me. I would find him in the morning, laying in front of a big old dead one with his paws crossed, looking all noble and useful and German Shepherd like.

Jo is good, Jesse cleaned her feet really well, scraped them out good and washed them, rinsed them and checked them over well then did her trim and file. But I mean I was bent over watching him when that shoe came off because the whole leather pad and silicone made me hysterical the night that joker did her feet. He was telling me I was ruining her feet by overflowing her stock tank and making her a little mud pit to stand in when it was dry and I argued with him that I had been doing that since I was 8 years old and it was the best thing for their feet....good old earth and water. Them being sealed up was driving me nuts. That is why I had Jesse here today just shy of 6 weeks since those shoes and pads went on. So as soon as the shoe came off I was inches from her foot, level with Jesse and I looked at him the same time he looked at me and I just said "Jesse, please clean them out good and let's see down in there". He merely nodded and was already working on it. OMG I was angry.

He best not come anywhere near here or I will light his truck up with .30 caliber rounds, private road and from my fenceline to the creek is ours and the Glass' and he is not wanted here. I left the aisle light in the barn on and turned off Jo's radio, have my bedroom window open so I can see inside the barn to her stall and hear her snore if she breaths heavy. Not to mention our road is a nightmare right now and his truck will be heard long before he gets here if he came out this far. And frankly I dare him to go into her stall, she attacks anything that goes into her stall with her including chasing people out. She will let Chy, Bill and I in there but anyone else, including Jesse and Dr. Mason (unless I go in with him) get pushed out and she pitches a fit, she kills any critter that goes in there. I literally have to bring her out into the aisle of the barn for farrier and vet.. That is HER stall and she is very protective of it. She crammed Bear in the corner one day and put the squeeze play on him until he left and he was just trying to clean up something for me. Hahahahahaha

But her feet are beautiful and good, now just for her right front crack to finish growing out and the nail holes to grow out and they will be perfect once again. Jesse is going to let her grow until after the first of the year now so she gets some length on her toes because her growth is starting to slow for winter and I will use the rider's rasp on the toes to keep them from gettinng too long but he wants her to grow some before her next trim because that idiot cut her toes so short. Grrrrrrr

I still cannot believe that man will actually cause lameness or thrush just so he can work on their feet and he almost did it to my Diva Do. Oh I could spit nails! I absolutely despise someone who is abusive, cruel, mean to or harms an animal for no reason. I will be mad for days over it now.

. Oh my gosh, the world seems just a tad bit darker right now. Prayers travel with you Ranchie and mine are with her loved ones.

Jo is fine this morning, her radio has been turned back on, she has had a couple bites of carrots and tons of loves. She was curious as to why I was coming down at 5am, she did not want her breakfast yet but she wanted her scratches , rubs, muzzle kisses and radio. I see her every night but usually somewhere between 10pm and 2am I walk down to check the barn and kiss her good night. LOL. I fed her about 6:15am and she was ready for nums nums then and her cookies. She is spoiled rotten. I hide 2 cookies in her grain pan each meal and there better be two cookies in there at each meal or there will be hell to pay. She saves them for last but expects them. Hahahahaha

Oh my - boy LH - i mean really - whatta shmuck! I am gald you caught her before the thrush indeed set in. I mean i cant believe that - I am with you - light him up if he shows up on your property!

Kathy - i have never seen hawks in groups before either! I am so sorry

Sally was one of a kind. I was told when she became seriously ill-she didn't want a big fuss made. I sent her a card and she seemed genuinely surprised and touched. It's a horrible tragedy-she was only about my age, just 55, I think. So sad about this.

I was in the ER with the 3rd bad migraine of the year so have to get off this computer. Still have a remnant of it left, too. Two doses of Demerol didn't completely fix it.

Oh that is bad! I get migraines but have not ever ended up in the ER- yeah the screen isnt gonna help you! Hope you get better!

Fabulous news today-one of our BR hens, Becca, who we thought was dying from internal laying (no eggs, swollen abdomen for a long time, going on the nest repeatedly, but no eggs for many months on end) is laying again! Her body has somehow repaired itself and I've gotten eggs from her 3 days in a row. At first, I thought another hen must have gotten in the nest with her and laid a similar egg to hers, but nope, she's done it two more times now. It's official! Becca and Amanda are 4 years old.
