Everyone was very quiet today......


I made some bunny nestboxes. They are like $15 each to buy, so I made my own. $30 worth of supplies and I used less than half to make these 4......I think I can make 8, possibly 10....with some wood even left over.

Faith and Serendipity are both due 10/15. Faithis bred to Puff. She started building a nest a week ago.....then destroyed it. She did the same thing last time....built a nest way too early, and then rebuilt at last minute. So she should definately be pregnant. Serendipity is bred to Dewey. She is new to me so I don't know what signs to look for. She has shown zero weight gain, zero behavioral changes and zero nesting behavior. I don't think she is pregnant......

Star is due 10/16....Star is bred to Gomer. She was bred by a friend and then given to me last week.....she has been in the laundry room cages until tonight when I caught her building a nest in her cage.....so I moved her out to the garage to a cage with a nestbox.

Tiramisu is due 10/19. She is bred to Hitch. This is her first litter.....she definitely acts pregnant. Was litterbox trained before and a week after being bred started destroying her litterbox. Seems to be a tell tale sign for my girls.....

Pelosi and WhoKnows are both due 10/24. Pelosi is bred to Puff and WhoKnows to Dewey. They are my friends bunnies.....but she decided to no longer work on that color and so gave me the three girls (Star, Pelosi and WhoKnows) and 1 boy (Gomer). She had used my boys to breed them, hence why they aren't at my house but are alreadybred to my bucks. I just haven't picked up Pelosi, WhoKnows or Gomer yet......this week.......I picked up Star last week since she is due soon and I didn't want to wait to move her last minute. I will have to get the rest this week.

I didn't know I was getting Star, Pelosi and WhoKnows back when I did my breedings.....nationals are in early May so I am planning on breeding everyone for then.....I did Test Breedings last month, 1 girl to each of my 3 bucks I will be usung....just test fertility. Looks like Hitch and Puff are fertile. Dewey is NOT an aggressive breeder and I have trouble with him not getting it done with the girls. I have a feeling both Serendipity and WhoKnows are not bred. I need to figure out a way to make him more "aggressive" about breeding......he is a sissy and the girls push him around lol.

I'm sorry, I can't get into the rabbit thing. To tell the truth, they creep me out. I like to see them in the wild, but that's it.

Guess I don't want any mammals giving birth here. Rather have things that hatch, LOL.

You should get a platypus then Cyn, it's a mammal that lays eggs!

Oh lordy bunnies are adorable I am surprised I have said no this long...I want an Angora.

I think it will be a good replacement to being a grandma as I never get to see my grandson instead I can brush a bunny and love it and squeeze it and call it George.

We've got some Australian members here on the forum, maybe they can point us in the direction of a platypus breeder with good stock?
