Hi all. Its been several days since i've been on here. I haven't had internet. Called the phone company and they sent a tech out. Come to find out little ole Flash chewed the phone line. Little rat. Been busy at work. Today I had my first smoke cessation counseling over the phone. It went good. I go to my doctor monday for Chantixs. Im ready to quit smoking!!!!! I also got the roof fixed on the barn and got the Hollands moved in. Now if I could just find the Guineas a new home I would be set.

Lots of things I disliked about it. They are notorious for not holding a temp. I have had to mess with mine every time I use it. I have still never hatched a whole batch in one. I ended up moving them out. It is small and very crowded. If you do hatch in it, you have to take the wet chicks out and put them somewhere else to dry and fluff. (Well, I did anyway). The turner is not really a turner. The whole unit tilts. I don't like the "wires" that hold the eggs in place, if you can get them to work. Many just use egg cartons to remedy that though. I do not like the black color of the "basket" that holds the eggs. I like white, so when I clean I know I got everything good and clean. The top of the unit gets full of dust and dander and you have to unscrew the whole thing to clean it up. There is no hand grip and it is hard to take the top off without it slipping out of my hand. I'll be darned if I can get the humidity up in that thing either. I do not have the humidity pump (expensive).

Chantix works great, by the way!

Kudos to Brandon! Pulling for you on the quitting thing. Lost my MIL to emphysema in her early 60's and my BIL has it, too-he's on oxygen and still smoking. Almost blew his face off once, the ijit. I want something better for you!

Meg has taken a turn for the worse. She seemed completely normal this morning; was only keeping her in the house because it was 20* this a.m. and didn't want her back out till the weather was a bit warmer. This evening, she is having trouble breathing. Hopefully, it's just getting worse before it gets better, but she sounds much worse than she did when I brought her in the house in the first place.

Ida laid her first egg today, so all three of my BR pullets are laying. Now, for their eggs to get larger...

Oh, look at the cool b'day youtube birthday card my son made and sent from South Korea where he's teaching English-it's so awesome!
