Caroline, the Buff, is trying to grow in the last feathers of her molt. They are about to turn 5 years old and have never had any egg issues at all, both still lay, though at a reduced rate, of course, at their ages. They don't seem to have issues with the heat, either; both are friendly, but don't care to be held much.
