So sorry, Tim!


Wait, Kathy, you got Brahmas? When did you decide to do this? I love my two hatchery Brahmas. They've never given us any trouble. Miranda finished her molt and hasn't started back laying. Caroline, the Buff, is trying to grow in the last feathers of her molt. They are about to turn 5 years old and have never had any egg issues at all, both still lay, though at a reduced rate, of course, at their ages. They don't seem to have issues with the heat, either; both are friendly, but don't care to be held much.

Awwww, Tim, I am sooooo sorry to hear this. You just talk to the seller. I know he will make it right with you. He is a great guy. Really he is!

Cyn, I have wanted Brahmas for sooo sooo long. I caved to an auction. I can hardly wait to have them all grown up! I sold my Red Sussex and Buff Sussex, so I rationalize that I have room for them.

First things first,

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Much to be thankful here.

Scott, it's nice to see you. It's been a while and hope all is well.

Have cleared things up with the chick situation and expect replacements. I should make it clear that he does auction breeds other than I ordered and that I would have no problem bidding on them. In fact I'm waiting and saving my money.

Still haven't told DW what I paid and she didn't ask. Thank the Lord.

Finally a word of thanks to all here on BYC. The advice and information I receive here is invaluable. I've learned many things that have saved me a great many problems.

I hope that everyone has many blessings to be thankful for! And may your blessings increase ten fold in the days ahead!

Gonna keep this brief as in addition to chicken chores and the usual daily grind, I now have the rest of my Thanksgiving Day preparations to complete!

One pie to make [pumpkin of course] sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, and God forbid, I should forget to put the turkey in!

Just a quick note to share with y'all: 'Milio has a new nickname.... TURKEY BOY!!!

Y'all should see this silly boy when he comes thundering across the yard to greet his mama!!

Funniest dang bird in the whole flock!! The wind was fierce yesterday, and between that blowing his butt feathers over backwards, and his wings dropped and out to the side....omg!

Just priceless! I'll have to see if I can capture a silent video of this scene soon. [my camera doesn't do sound.

] It's just too dang funny!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO YOU AND YOURS

I was out with my chickens this morning and watching my F-1s. They are at point of lay with the rooster being the same age. The rooster was in the nest box checking it out and trying to talk a pullet into it. I have had another rooster do the same thing. It was a nice sight to watch.
