I think Maggie might be going broody on me. I came up one beak shy last night at lock up. Once I figured out who was missing, it didn't take long to find her. She was hiding in the yet unused duplex coop, sitting on one little egg. It was dark so I couldn't tell who's egg it is, but I'm betting it's either hers or her daughter's. They like to stash them in there when I'm not looking. Little pill! Since she was so adamant about sitting on the dang thing, I let her and just locked her up in there for the night. We shall see shortly here if she's really all that serious about it.

MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) — Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin says he was chased and nearly caught by four bears that were raiding his birdfeeders.

Shumlin says he was in bed in his rented Montpelier home late Wednesday night when he heard what turned out to be four bears in the backyard.

He says he looked out and saw the bears, including two cubs. He tried to chase the bears away, but they kept coming back.

Shumlin says he ran out barefoot in an attempt to rescue his birdfeeders. He says one of the bears charged him on the porch.

Shumlin tells the Valley News editorial board that Vermont "almost lost the governor." He says he was within "three feet of getting `arrrh.'"

.....and this amazes us why??!! DEMOCRATIC governor of the most liberal state (east of California) is simply trying to answer the age old question "does a bear $*'t in the woods?" The answer is "NO Governor, they do it in your yard".....sad thing is the people of Vermont ELECTED him, a leader of their state, a man smart enough to chase bears in his yard at night. And we wonder why our country is in the shape it is.....his picture should be beside the definition of "moron" in the dictionary

Naaaaa Kathy that does not bother me...it takes two Democratic votes to equal up to one Republican vote anyway so we gotcha already by one.

Scott.....yes what you said and then some. Ya know the exact same thing comes to mind when I think of That Man and his witchy woman on Pennsylvania Avenue too.

rrrmamma, they are adorable co-pilots but I think they would have problems with the whole reaching the stick, accelerator and seeing out the window at the same time thing. Let me think on it.
