I hope everyone is safe during the epidemic of tornados . I've been following on tv. They like march across the land like soldiers from hell. Seems like it gets worse every year.

It is getting worse, Karen. It's not your imagination. And to think there are those who still refuse to believe that the climate is changing!

LH, how about Percival for your little sweetie there? I mean, you already have Lancelot. Might as well add another of the finer Knights of the Round Table names to the roster.

Or there's also Sir Gawain perhaps? Just suggestions.....

ooohhh excellent idea Serrin...I shall ask him later what he likes. :) In the meantime, here is Cyn's Grandbaby, son of Suede and Meg, Hector! This boy has the most amazing colors in his feathering. The reds and blues just are stunning to me. I am teaching him to come to me when I call him....having Lancelot trained to his name and the words "come here" came in very handy when he and I were playing Fox Football, he stopped chasing the fox and immediately came back to me so I am training Hector also.

Karen...you all girl hatches are the result of the hens not the roos. The hen determines the sex of the chick :) So the hens are throwing more girls or at least in those hatches they did. :)

This is what an orp should look like....

It should be splash, beautiful and spoiled rotten yet completely comfortable enough to throw itself down almost in your lap for a nice sunbath on the lawn....example daughter of Suede and Smoky, Miss Zena

or stroll across the front porch as if you own it....example, Athena, daughter of Suede and Smoky

Oh, what a great video of Hector!

Who is the little man I keep hearing in the background? Quite the little talker, ain't he?

We were treated to the sound of a flock of wild tom turkeys gobbling in the woods this morning. I so wish the sun had been a bit further up when they came strutting through. I might have been able to get a picture of them if it had. As it was, it was a total thrill to watch three HUGE Toms and four beautiful hens come waltzing on through. Turkey season opened on the 12th, but these were perfectly safe from our shotguns. We don't make a habit of hunting wild critters on our property unless they pose a threat to the chickens.

Part of me wishes we had a sure fire way of encouraging them to hang around more. But, part of me would also worry about what kind of a biohazard they could represent to our flock. *sigh* I guess we'll just have to enjoy their presence for the rare treat that they are. Beautiful creatures!

That would be Leo's son...my partridge silkie roo that died in the dog attack....his son. He is competing with Mr. Fluffy (white silkie), Blue OE baby boy and Hector. hahahaha

Hector is a good boy...gorgeous too.

I don't think it's always so much that people refuse to believe that the climate is changing, but if you really think about it, the climate has been changing since before the ice age. Some people just don't think it's changing any quicker.
