Cohabitating, free range with the head roo. He gets chased, but is a sneaky fellow! Friendly, curious, great watch dog. Alarms even before the head roo! Cool double comb and beard from the Polish and light feathered, beard and blue legs from the D'Uccle.

Smaller guy, enough machismo (alot, lol), so big hens no problem, would do anything to have his own hens all to himself!

And eats next to nothing!!! Just saying, not a hog! Keep the girls safe but not cost much!

***I saved this guy as a nearly dead chick. Anyone would have thrown it away. And not been wrong.

He had just hatched overnight, out from momma all night. in the nest box. Limp. Cold No sign of breathing. Warmed him in my hand, massaged his teeny chest (ridiculous, I know, but there was no rigor so I thought maybe...) then warm wet cloths then..he peeped. then to the heat pad. Up and about in a couple hours! Back under momma that night!

His name is Wesley (Princess Bride... "mostly dead all day")

So, needs a home, not soup pot.

Predator proofish, please :)

(Will take return if it doesn't work out.)

I am also in SE PA and looking to re home a cockerel. I bought 6 chicks from the "Pullet" bins and tractor supply and ended up with TWO Roos. They are about three months. And haven't really found their voice yet but I have heard them crow on two occasions over the past week. I have talked to my closest neighbor and they are ok with me keeping them but they are already squaring off and honestly two roosters is just too much for 4 girls. Gorgeous black austrolop with green and purple shimmer. Although he's the smaller of the two he keeps a watchful eye. Free to a great home!
