I live on the coast of Maine and was wondering if I could feed seaweed to my birdies...? Anyone tried this?

Is it not loaded with salt? Too much salt may harm your birds.

Something for the bird diet experts.... Anyone?

I'm certainly no expert, but I wouldn't do it, either - too much salt. I'd save the seaweed for steaming the lobsters and clams. *jealous*

Seaweed has been used as a garden fertilizer by coastal communities for centuries without causing salt issues .

I'd think that a good rinsing with clean water and you'd a very nutritious snack for your flock.
