I'am imageing it right now!

Somebody just sent me a PM that the party I complained about is still using my photo. To clarify they did remove my photo and are using another photo that isn't mine but in a similar gold frame. Thanks for the heads up. Its nice to know some people have your best interest in mind.

My question is when someone steals your photo's and uses them on their website just what can you do to them???????
I believe that people who do this should be delt with harshly.....

People who do this amazes me on how brash they are to use someone elses work.
Sorry Vicky but it seems like there have been several people using your photo's on you.

I do not see English sebastopol stamped on our sebastopols butts either!

The way I understand it is anything you create whether art, photography, articles etc. are property of the creator and not to be used without permission and are not public domain but I would guess its hard to enforce unless you go after somebody legally. I've had people use my articles and photos several times without permission. I wouldn't mind people using them IF they ask and give me credit for the work but even then when I've done that people have abused that as well so its kind of a no win situation.

I agree with Celtic, that way unless they want to spend hours photoshopping the pics they can't use it. I am very sorry this happened to you, not cool at all! You would have to pursue them legally but as another business using your photos...they could be in a lot of trouble. Me, I'd follow Celtic's advice and notify them to cease and desist from using your property now and in the future. Make sure you save hard copy. It's a lot cheaper to use someone elses pictures rather than paying a photographer to make it all pretty, and at the least you could be entitled to gain back what it would have cost them to pay a photographer to take these photos. If they don't take the warning seriously, you could take them to court and get some of your own back and they may have to pay all legal fees in small claims court.

I filed a complaint with a social media site and had the pinched pic removed from their page. Surprised me.

Had a friend who filed with ebay and won to have their pic removed as well. I mean I know its "buyer beware" especially on ebay, but if someone is showing pictures of sebs and offering seb eggs, one would assume the picture is of the bird that is laying eggs and time and time again, that is sadly not the case at all. Ask questions and request pics. I thought NPIP meant "quality birds" at one time.

You know it's sad....you have to wonder if they made the site themselves or hired someone else to do it. Doesn't matter, they have to be responsible for the content of their site. It also brings this question to mind...if they have to resort to stealing someone else's photos, what do their birds look like?

If you do a web search for Sebastopol photos many of mine show up. Web builders snag them to use for websites they are creating for others such was the case in this situation.
True I need to use a watermark. I'm just a procrastinator and haven't gotten around to doing it. New years resolution along with losing weight I guess.
