Sebastopol geese - selecting breeding stock, color genetics, and color improvement

Thanks Shellie and peasue I went out when the snow started to feed and gather more eggs from the girls. I made sure to feed enough then to not have to go back out in it when it got deep or slipery.
I go in a bit later in the morning before 8:00 am. Usually go in before 6:00am. My husband will take me in the truck and pick me up. The hill we have to go down is very steep and it is a B$%$% to get up in this weather.

We have a back way to come in but these pople that live on that property do not want people using that road. I thought that any road that had road signs or street signs you could use unless it says NO thuro through. Anyway they have taken it upon themselfs to put big ditches on both sides of the road and have super high speed bumps, so high a regular car can not use it period. There is a road committy and they are investagating into it to see if these people have the right to do this.

We need an emergency exit out from here and that is they only way!!!?????

Hope the roads are ok in the morning

My husband took me to dialysis this morning in the Ram truck. We made it there just fine and he got back up the hill fine. He came back and picked me up and we made it up the hill but had to do a very fast run up the hill......

HI Ruru, My mom is living in our guest house and she is on dialysis to. She had to stay in town at my sisters during our storm which was 17 inches of snow. Didn't loose any creatures. Geese sleep out during all of this, I just put fresh straw down at night to keep them off of the snow. How is your weather there? Did you get a lot of snow?

I am new to this thread..... But hoping that someone can lead me to a book or article that gives the color genetics for geese. I need easy to understand :) black to black = black :)

Hi Jennifer!! Long time no hear from you........ Sorry to hear your mom is on dialysis but the best thing is she is still alive because of it!

We got about 8 inches of snow here. We were not hit as bad as other places. It went to 30 degrees today. Have kept our geese in their pens so they were not on the snow. But their pens are all muddy now.

psue, I will print this off! Love the "photos"...... Glad someone besides me needs more of a visual :)

Thanks again. The genitics are interestingly confusing :)
