You can fit one goose in a box that size, but they will have to sit the whole way. I would suggest the AC on high also.

If you have big dogs, you can use a dog crate, too. That's what I did when I brought mine home. And I did drive with the AC on all the way home (about 3 hours). They were panting and it wasn't even hot out.

Question: do you guys feed a little higher protein when they're molting?

No- they aren't like chickens. Too much protein can lead to wing issues. Lots of greens and variety in their diets will help them grow healthy new feathers that will look nice til next year. Unless you have curlies and let them breed, in which case they will look like total crap by February.

Ok, just went and read the "reason" he has to wear a diaper and I'm so sorry. We have both a Polish that looks like your RW (RIP) and a goose that looks like Sebastian. Hope he's doing better and your daughters hearts are healing

Awww! I wish I would have had the diapers when we had an injured one in the house. What a mess.

Speaking of- one time my little guy left the door open while I was in the garden and ALL the geese came in the house. It was right after the whole flock just ate 2 watermelons. They must have run laps around the house 5 times before I realized they were in there.

Shellie check it out- maybe they will let you open a bag. I give at least some to all the birds except babies. Even the donkeys have gotten into it with no issues.
