Sebastopol Geese Thread !!!!!!!!!! SHOW YOUR PICS !!!!!!!!!!

No- they aren't like chickens. Too much protein can lead to wing issues. Lots of greens and variety in their diets will help them grow healthy new feathers that will look nice til next year. Unless you have curlies and let them breed, in which case they will look like total crap by February.
Just to clarify, I'm not talking about babies getting their feathers. I'm mean just regular adult molting. They don't need higher protein while growing new feathers?

Awww! I wish I would have had the diapers when we had an injured one in the house. What a mess.

Speaking of- one time my little guy left the door open while I was in the garden and ALL the geese came in the house. It was right after the whole flock just ate 2 watermelons. They must have run laps around the house 5 times before I realized they were in there.

Not sure if I posted it on this thread or not, but I have 2 toulouse girls- one raised here her whole life, and one that went to another farm with a huge pond, but very little "green". The other flock was all stolen a week before Thanksgiving, and I got that lone girl back.
I tell you what- she was brown. Brown-grey. And her feathers were not water-repellent like they should be. I am happy to say she's got a whole new set of blue-grey feathers again after molting and grazing here.
