Sebastopol Geese Thread !!!!!!!!!! SHOW YOUR PICS !!!!!!!!!!

Correct me if i'm wrong but with the price/egg capacity ratio comparison between the brinsea's and sportman's it would be better to got with the sportsman, even new they would be well worth it. (even new i think its cheaper to go with sportsman, then again its been away since i compared prices)
The only thing i did with the 1502 sportsman was load the egg trays with my eggs, put them in, filled the humidity tray, clicked the up button on the digital control for it to go to 99.5, clicked the automatic turning button and waited, the sportsman displays the set temp. actual temp. temp outside the incubator, and humidity level.

Starting to convince myself i should have waited and just bought a sportsman instead of the brinsea 20 eco but i needed one this season...o well

Thanks now i might just have to get one!! I've heard the Dickeys are great but i know nothing about them. Can someone tell me how they compare to the sportsman and are they easy to use? Anyone ever try to incubate chicken and geese eggs at the same time? i know the chickens hatch before the geese but just wondering if it can successfully be done. Also what are you hatch rates in these different incubators?

Just wondering what everyone feeds their sebbies. I have been giving mine waterfowl breeder/maintenance but was reading about hubbards duck and goose. Is one better then the other and what else should they be getting. They also get a little scratch along with the Chickens. Oh and 3 of them are coming 2 year olds and 4th is a coming 3 year old. Thanks!

I feed mine flockraiser,layena,and scratch

I posted a pic. a few days ago of them as goslings. Here they are now.

Question: If you look at the male, his primary feathers stick out a little bit on his right side. The female in one of these pics primary feathers looks a little rough but overall lays pretty straight. To me it does not appear to be angle wing and when he stretches out his wings everything looks fine but when lays them back down the right side still looks funky, so what is it, is it normal, and can i do anything about it?

left side that looks ok (i think)

I feed mine Layena, gamebird feed or scratch and oats. I use to fee them BOSS but the price sky rocketted so I stopped. If I can afford it I will get Flockraiser.

You should be careful feeding any breed of waterfowl scratch feed or corn.
It lowers the protein content of their food and too much can cause
them to get fat. Waterfowl accumulate fat around their reproductive organs
which can cause fertility problems. Waterfowl basically only need corn or scratch
when the weather is very cold during the winter months and even then limited
amounts. If you want to feed grains, oats or wheat would be a better choice.
I have some tips on my website on feeding geese.

Im gonna be getting my first ever sebastopol goose on Sunday!!!!
