I have a 9 week old Sebright and a few questions for Sebright owners.

Is your Sebright friendly- ie lets you hold it, wants to be petted?

When did your Sebright start laying?

How big/What color are the eggs and how many times a week does it lay?

Do you keep your Sebright with Standards or Bantams?

If you keep your Sebright with Standards, how do they get along?

Is your Sebright talkative or generally quiet?

Thanks!!

Here's a pic of my Pippa and her friends

My two seabrights live with the rest of the flock. I have two hens, they lay a light cream colored egg. They are very sweet and prefer to be together, a little reserved with me but I did not handle any of the chicks when I got them at 8 weeks. If they get seperated, they will get a little frantic. They are a favorite for me and am looking to get more.

I have 4 (2 roos/2 pullets) that are about 3 months old, so
I can't answer any of your laying questions.

I ordered 30 chickens (3 bantam breeds & 3 standard breeds) and received them back in July.
They have always been together and get along well.
I had them in a 2 x 8 brooder box and at about 2 weeks,
started putting them in a 6 x 8 pen in the daytime.
We would sit in the pen with them for hours, so ours got accustomed to handling and petting at an early age.
Now, all 30 are in a 8 x 12 pen and still get along well.
My boys are more friendly than the girls but the girls seem to be coming around more and more.
They are generally quiet , except for High Dive who has recently began crowing.
He got his name because he jumped into a 5 gallon bucket full of water (I accidently left in the pen) and when my husband found him he was just about dead.
I blow dried him, wrapped him in a blanket, and held him for about an hour before he finally perked up.
I absolutely adore mine and plan on hatching some next spring.

Here is a trio of mine

I couldn't get High Dive to stay still long enough to get a pic of him.

That's exactly the info I was looking for - Thanks!!

BantyChickMom: Your Sebrights are gorgeous! I hope Pippa looks half as good when she grows up.
