Sebrights are they really hard to find?

If you are serious about the breed, look up the breed clubs on line. There are always breeders who are willing to help get someone else started. I give away a lot of birds for just that purpose.

Not very popular more like it. Common problems are they tend towards flighty and also aggressive roosters. Seems to be one of the breeds that get a lot of attention.. then either given away soon or people simply don't get more of this breed.

A well bred bird are very beautiful though. Used to know someone who showed them.. stunning birds.

I hear such conflicting stories about breeding, etc. Some say they are hard to breed and fertility is low and others say they breed like crazy and hens even go broody. I dunno but I know I want the goldens. They are my absolute favorite! I think I may have found someone semi-local. If this doesn't work out I'll go with Ideal and try to slowly build my flock to the standard.
Thanks all,

I have saw Silver Sebrights on here but Golden Sebrights are impossible to find! I have been looking for a month or longer.

Edit- I tried to get some from IDEAL but they all arrived dead except one that died after arrival.

Did you contact Ideal? Did they work things out for you? I was hoping the shipped chicks would fair okay since Ideal is only one state over. Still deciding what I should do.
Thanks!

I've heard several times that Sebrights are hard to breed. That has not been the case with mine. I got my Sebrights from a breeder in Texas last year, 1 roo and 5 hens. They hens are great little layers, and my roo gets his job done. It's very seldom that I pull eggs at candling due to infertility. And my Roo is not aggressive at all. I have really nothing bad to say about this breed. They're great little birds-a little flighty, but not aggressive at all. I really don't know why they're so hard to come by.

I actually had gotten a gold laced pullet locally, don't know what happened, but she didn't fair well
