Yeah, I'm excited about it. The hive's all done, I just need the hive stand. And the pesky part about the bees. My package was delayed. It was supposed to be here when I got back from Utah but instead it's not arriving until 31 May. I'm nervous they won't survive the winter due to getting such a late start (we can have frosts here in August) and having all new frames and foundation to draw out.

It is what it is.

Quote: Last time I candled it looked like perhaps two were developing. The big green egg and one of the brown ones. The others all look scrambled, but I'm not going to candle again until next Friday or Saturday.

I did run out to Avondale and got a dozen Aloha eggs. (They are like Swedish Flower Hens, only BETTER!!... and they were developed right here in AZ)

So now I have the 6 remaining from you under the broody and 28 in the Brinsea due on the 18th of May.

Woohoo - so she got you in the Aloha loop, huh? I got roped in too and am working a side-project of the Aloha project. I visited her in February and smuggled carried back an 18-count of eggs in my luggage. After the trip they had, including being thrown down the carousel (bag wasn't checked but had to gate check it and they sent it via the carousel at the final destination), I didn't hold out much hope for them. Three weeks later, 16 chicks hatched!!!

One of my patients that I got started into chickens got a broody. ( As sister to my current broody)... she ordered eggs from CA and he sent MANY extras. She put 9 eggs under her broody and she brought me the extra 16!

Well, if I'm going to get my incubator out to put in 16, what's another dozen, right?

Quote: Here's the current count:
30+ Pekin
20+ Runner
18+ Call
12+ Bantam EE
25+ Coturnix Quail
I collect the LF EE as ordered because they get eaten otherwise.
