**~~>>Second Annual Cinco de Mayo Turkey Hatchathon<<~~**all poultry welcome!

I'm crossing my fingers for you! I've got a good feeling! And.... you sent me 21 eggs! 12 are going strong! I think you went above and beyond. And they will be gorgeous! Maybe I'll build the Langshans some ridiculously adorable little coop all their own. Something whimsical! Maybe like one of those Hobbit House coops. Hmmmm......the wheels are turning!
Oh!! You'll have to post pics if you do!!

Ron, great job as always!

Hello all. Bad couple of days here and I'm feeling pretty defeated. Yesterday morning DH discovered that Stuffing, our 8 week old BB white had died. Not sure what happened. He had a limp the other day and perhaps his injury was more serious than I assumed. Looked like he was just walking along, doing his thing and just dropped dead. I don't know what to think.

Later that day we went out shopping. When we got home that evening I found my incubator reading only 86 degrees. I don't know if the power had gone out or if someone had been messing with it, like my 2 year old. I'm hoping it wasn't for too long but I couldn't find movement in any of my eggs. I will candle tonight after work, but I fear all is lost

I'm sorry about Stuffing. Your incubator may be fine - it sounds like you weren't gone that long and they can take a little cooling. The thermometer only reads the air temperature so the core temperature of the egg doesn't change nearly as fast and may still have been high enough for the fetus to survive.

I got my cornish eggs, finally, yesterday. Going to throw them quickly in the bator, then head to work. They are much smaller than I expected. Hopefully I don't get burned by ebay eggs... again.

Meat bird eggs are nearly always "small" Usually a Medium to large size, 57Gish. Dual Purpose Meat chickens are similar in size. Dual Purpose Egg layers have the big eggs.

Dorking and Bresse have very similar eggs in color and shape.
