Second try at hatching quails! (This time I'm sharing the whole experience with you!)

Thanks! Here's a pic of the little one, it wasn't even one of the eggs that had pips! Ahahaha, plus he was really spot on, exactly 17 days from when they were put in( same hour even!) I have now a second one who seems to be pretty active ( maybe entering the unzip phase?) I'll update tomorrow morning when I wake up.

And some are unzipping too! Can't tell the colors yet though , I'll setup the brooder so I can let the new ones dry up a bit meanwhile

Decided to count them, 7 hatchlings, 1 unzipping and 2 or so pipped

Transferred the 8 that hatched to the brooder, they love to hug all together for some reason, but I don't think they are cold, they were doing it in the bator too, is this normal?

The sides of the brooder reflect a bit, so they are now pecking at themselves through the wall ahaha

Do you have a thermometer in the brooder?

Make sure you put some marbles or rocks in their waterer so the can't get in it and drown. Quail babies are dumb.
