three more chicks just hatched, another has been unzipping of 3 hours now, he is still actively trying to get out but he seems to be stuck halfway through. how many hours should i wait before helping him?
yeah, they are in completely different cagesI do not believe in helping quail out of the egg because the one that I helped ended up dying anyways. So I'm the wrong person to ask about helping.
sure it's fine to keep them next to the adults as long as they cannot get to them.
Congrats!Well, the last bird just hatched, the other two eggs were infertile and I somehow overlooked them haha, 3 needed help to hatch (one was undersized but he's doing great now, the other two were disoriented because of their brothers rolling them) so, not taking into account infertile eggs I got a 100% hatch rate, a HUGE improvement from my last batch(10%) ahaha, thanks everyone for the help you gave me, you've been extremely helpful and I really appreciate it. If you want, you can choose the name of the only dark coloured chick!![]()
