I had a similar situation myself. Had a setting momma and chicks hatching in the 'bator. I didn't want to raise the babies myself so I gave them to momma. I took the babies out to the coop at dusk. Tossed mom off the nest to eat and drink and then put the babies in the nest. When she came back in she hopped up into the nest and saw the babies. She really looked confused but settled over the chicks and tucked her one egg under her. I watched for awhile and there were no problems. She ended up raising them without any problems.

The EE momma is the first I ever hatched. She was as determined to make it into this world as she is to be a momma. I tried building an incubator using instructions from a BYC bator contest. There were temp fluctuations & difficulty keeping the humidity right. I got a Little Giant. After 8 days in a makeshift bator the eggs were transferred to the LG. LG's can be very difficult for newbies
to operate. The incubation was not optimal. Below is the Momma on April 3, 2009
You go Momma Chick.
Jr, prayers & best wishes. You are truly blessed with a wonderful family. It was great to meet them.
