My hen did the same thing. I noticed I was getting 1 egg less then normal. I saw a hen on top of the nest boxes and reached underneath her and felt 3 eggs. I decided to let her sit on them in case any were already somewhat incubated. She has collected 3 eggs since and she has started to sit on them today, i hope. I don't know what the chicks will look like since thehen is a RIR and the rooster is a Cookoo Maran. It'll be interesting.
