See for yourself. Here she is. Peanut the Dwarf Duckling.

She is very cute!! :love
On her leg, is her leg dislocated from the hip or broken or something? In your video of her swimming that didn't look very good. I don't think it's diet related, but I guess there is a possibility, that considering she doesn't grow at a normal rate, maybe she's not adsorbing the vitamins she needs?
iIt's dwarfism and the bone itself is twisted. All is in place the bone is growing incorrectly.

Thanks for sharing! I know some people struggle with eating their own. Yoda gives his birds the best possible life, and thats generally what most who harvest their own meat do. It's a hard personal choice to make, but we all need a plan for our extra boys, and this is just one of the options. Interested to hear what others do with their extra boys

my “extra” drakes go to nice homes either with lots of girls or with an all drake flock. no reason for them to die just because they are drakes.

Beautifuly put Muscovy Wunda thank you. I will consume all of him. He had a great life and I loved him and thanked him. Watch my youtube channel to see my flock. They are very much loved.

How do your source the new homes may I ask? Unfortunately I've met a number of people that aren't honest when saying they will rehome drakes/roosters to a bachelor pad... they always have alot of males around so it's not obvious on inspection. Its very hard to rehome males to forever homes where I am unless they are show stock. For me, it doesn't bother me so long as its done correctly but I don't like dishonesty to those that don't want that fate for their fellows

there is lots of small farms in my area. most of those people keep small flocks of ducks/chickens. a bunch of them keep them just as pets, and don’t use them as livestock (besides eating their eggs)

i’ve known the people wanted them as pets because they asked about the ducks names, how old they were, and are fine with us occasionally visiting the ducks. if the person doesn’t care about any of that, and doesn’t want you to ever come see the duck then i would be worried they were gonna kill them or not take proper care

We keep two areas - one for ladies and babies and the other is for the batchelor flock. There's enough space that they can get away from each other if someone's feeling dominant (not had any obvious problems with special boy love).

We had ideas of selling the boys but when it came down to it, we couldnt even do that. If we can find homes for them, we will re-home, probably only to tree hugging vegetarians like our good selves.

I do respect everyones right to make their own decision regarding their drakes - eating them (or any other members of our house) is just not for me.

If you had told me even five years ago I'd be a vegetarian I would have laughed in your face.

Life - funny old game eh ?!
