So, if you grow heirlooms and want to grow them again next year, how do you keep the seeds? I kept seeds from a cherokee purple I grew last year but the seeds don't seem to want to germinate. I kept them in the freezer. Did I kill them?
All the new seeds I ordered this year have sprouted. So I need to know what to do for next year.

I don't keep mine in the freezer, just in bottles or jars with a paper towel to absorb moisture. Usually in the pantry cupboard (out of the light.)

So far, everything has grown, however some not as well as the original seeds.

I did buy a book from amazon about seed saving, it gives you the best method for saving different types of seeds. Maybe that would be helpful?

I dont have the book. But I hear that the book Seed to Seed is a very good book to have.. It supposed to tell you how far apart to keep different species.. And what types will interbreed.. And how to keep them pure..

This book is on my wish list..

Thanks, I'll check into it. I thought I'd be ok freezing them. All of the seeds in the doomsday vault are frozen.
