My father just went through the same thing. He had a 10 hour surgery to remove a tumor and was in the ICU for 3.5 months.
He was in rehab for 4 months and is finally home.

The Neurosurgery team decided to place a shunt in, and it took them 5 times to get it right. It's hard to figure out the right amount of pressure that the brain needs.
Once they got the right shunt, his headaches stopped almost immediately and he was discharged from the hospital a week later.

Were was his tumor? My father's was at the brain stem and 4th ventricle.

Things will slowly get better. We know exactly what you are going through.

Stay strong.

Good luck,

Joe

Were was his tumor? My father's was at the brain stem and 4th ventricle.

It was the right frontal lobe. It had compressed his whole frontal lobe into practically nothing, extended down into the ventricles and median, and had pushed his median and the rest of his brain over to the side over 3 1/2 inches. We are REALLY blessed. <--- ETA, Wow, I just realized how weird that sounds. I mean we are really blessed he is alive, functioning so well, and that it was found when it was. We were right on the knife's edge.

I am glad your father is doing better.
