Hello there. I'm here today seeking advice regarding a young peafowl of mine; of our four peachicks this year she's our only imprinted one, so we're quite attached to her. It's come to our attention that she has a lump of food lodged in her throat. This happened maybe 2 hours ago, just after she was given some macaroni as a treat. The lump is about an inch below the chin and two inches above the crop. It's oblong and maybe 1/2 an inch long and 1/4 inch wide. It's very compact. I've administered a very small amount of olive oil via syringe. The lump moves pretty freely up and down for around a 1/2 inch space, and I've attempted to gently massage it into the crop, but at a certain point it will not go any further downwards. If she doesn't improve by morning we will most likely be making an emergency call with our local vet. Any input from those with experience with this type of thing is welcome.
