Seeking help: treating bumblefoot in quail?

So, that is a word I learned on YouTube, no idea if it's really the right way to describe it, but it *sounds* like it should be the right word, LOL - but what you have there is similar to a cyst in a human being, except in a bird it's hard waxy detritus, staph bacteria, and dead skin. Underneath it is normal healing skin, so part of the soaking is to see if it will just come loose on its own if it's very small (my hen came with one on each foot, but the pinprick-sized one just went away without any manipulation.)

The chicken videos I was watching said to make sure you get the "tail" of the bumble...which I think is something you can see on a chicken-size one: in the videos it looked like a small scrap of torn skin at the end. I didn't see one, but we did one more soak and re-bandage after removing it, now that I'm thinking about it.

BTW - am brand-new to all of this, so I defer to those with more experience. Just read posts here and watched a lot of YouTube and came out ahead.
