Seeking Info on new "Asia Black" Chicken "Breed"

Pics
He’s most certainly an Asian black! I ended up with 4 pullets and 2 cockerels around the same time frame. Mine also just started laying! About 2 weeks ago.. I kept both of my cockerels but one of mine is a jerk so
I kept the "nicest" one out of the 4 Asian Black cockerels that I ended up with. Unfortunately I ended up with 2 RIR pulleys being cockerels, and an Americana puller being a cockerel, all in all I ended up with 5 cockerels! No more TSC chicks for me! (Hubby says I say that now, but come next spring I will be a sucker for the fuzziness again lol)

Also, the Asia Black cockerel I did keep tried to have a disagreement with me so I kept picking him up and carrying him around/scratching his neck feathers...he's fine now. A great protector for my girls!

Ha! I said no more TSC chicks either and my husband said basically the same as yours did. I just spent what seemed like a life savings on show quality silkies and I’m hopping to get a few broody pullets and from now on will spend money on some good quality fertile eggs and just hatch our own chicks. It really is SO hard to resist the chicks when we essentially live at TSC but it’s such a crap shoot ... at least it has been for us! I love all of my birds but I certainly am going to make the choice to spend more money on more quality birds going forward.

Mine never tried to have a disagreement with me at all.. he started showing off a little and getting cocky (no pun intended) and then just viscously attacked my almost 3 year old a few weeks ago. Color me unimpressed. They are so beautiful! I’m so bummed he’s a jerk

So I wanted to join this discussion for the same reason of not being able to find much information on Asian Blacks. I got these two from TSC as pullets. Pictures are from the first day I brought them home to today, eight weeks later. I'm sure one is a roo and am holding out hope the other is a pullet. I'm seeing a huge difference in appearance and colors in this post about Asian Blacks. Anyone care to guess if that's what these are. And if the last picture might be a pullet. The yellow chick in the second picture is a California White. I bought 2 of those as pullets the same day as the Asian Blacks and holding out hope that's what they are.

I have to be honest that those look like australorps to me. They don't look like my Asian blacks as chicks or juveniles either. Much like australorps though...

Mine are about 8 or 9 weeks old now. Here is some pics of them threw the weeks. I also got them from the tsc Asian blacks pullet bin. But 2 look like barred and the other 2 are a mystery... I think one might be a roo though. The one with the golden brown chest. Its feathers are different. It has long chest feathers that come down from the breast and curve over the lower wings.

I contacted Hoover's and asked them what their percentage rate they had on sexing chicks. (90%) I should have asked what their percentage rate was on knowing what breed it is that they are selling. We can blame the packers and we can blame the people that work at TSC for putting them in the wrong bins but Hoover definitely needs to work on quality control, or that would tell me they don't give a darn. I also sent them pictures of mine to see if they'd tell me what they are. I didn't mention anything about bins or that they were out of a pullet bin. I just want to know what they are. LOL
Your last chick pictured looks like a wait and see but could very well be a roo. I'm looking at the red wattle and comb development. One of the pictures I posted above shows the difference in the twos comb and wattles. Why I'm hopeful one of mine is a pullet. I can already see saddle feathers that look a bit pointy along with the tail feathers beginning to curve. The roo has beautiful green and blue sheen to his feathers. I'll post more pictures in a couple of weeks. Please let us know what you have sex wise and breed wise when you know. I'm too new to chickens to be able to tell you what you have. :hmm
