Maybe this being my first go with chickens and all, I might be calling it too soon. These RIR's pullets came sexed, they are 2 1/2 weeks and I am almost certain one is a roo. Its just too obvious, but then again, I'm no expert so maybe, just maybe he's a girl??

Here are the presumed girls

Here are the 3 together, presumed roo in front

The 3 again, one girl not sure what to do with herself in the bright light...Presumed roo on the left

He has shorter tail feathers than the other two and I noticed yesterday that he has wattles where the other two just barely have the start of them. He certainly gives you the evil eye, but he is very calm and tolerant. Am I right, or is "he" an early blossoming girl???

Pretty sure that's a cockeral. The comb development and the thicker legs, as well as the pattern of feathering in, all say cockeral to me.

That's what I thought...and I was always so intigued with his pretty "lipstick".

I was gonna name him Marilyn, or Madonna or something that says, "Hey look at my beautiful lips!" My boys say he is Kevin. Its too early to say if Kevin will be a patriarch or a good stew. Wasn't planning on becoming a breeder, but its not totally ruled out either *sigh*.

I suppose until I hear a crow or see an egg, I can't be 100%.

Thanks for your input!!
