Seizures

I have starting today. I been trying to get her to eat duck food for 2 weeks now and she won't eat it. I will keep trying....I feel guilty for giving her veggies.
You might also want to get some vitamin b complex from the feed store because ducks need a lot of niacin and twice as much thiamine as chickens.

Here is a video of a hawk with a thiamine deficiency. The left is before treatment, the right is after treatment.

This is what I suggest you get:

Try adding some water to her duck food, making like a mash/poridge. I'm thinking she's not getting enough nutrition needed for her development. :hugs Keep us updated :fl
Yes, I do add water to her food. She just had another seizure like symptom. After she gave them she quacks very loud and sit down and be very still. This is really breaking my heart cause there is nothing I can do until Thursday when I can take her to the clinic

Being it's a Crested Duck they can suffer neurological issues due to the deformity of its skull. The skull is not closed so that's why they grow a crest.
What can I do? It breaks my heart to see her having seizures. She wont eat anything. I'm use to see her up and playing. All she does now is lay around and she don't quack anymore.

Be sure to tell the vet about her diet, being crested can cause neurological issues for sure but this maybe dietary too. Since she wasn't eating much in nutritional value. @casportpony can give you advise on tube feeding her also. Also do your own research on crested ducks because many have them and not all have neurological issues.

Sure hope you can get her some help. Oh and I know stimulation can bring on seizures My dd had Epilepsy when she was young and just brushing her hair could trigger a seizure so try not to rub her much if you want to hold her wrap her in a towel and snuggle her that way.

If you have a Tractor Supply, go get that bottle of b complex from the cattle section and give her 1 ml of that today. It can be given orally or by injection. A thiamine deficiency can cause all of the symptoms you are seeing, including her not wanting to eat, so get some of that ASAP. Getting some E and selenium might help too.

If you don't have a Tractor Supply, go to a Walmart, Wallgreens, Target, etc. and get a b complex that contains niacin and thiamine. Let us know what you found and we can tell you how much to give.

It is possible that her being a crested duck is causing the problem, but only a vet can confirm that, so try not to worry about that right now. :hugs
