My hen has a hot swollen foot, I’ve posted about before. Contacted the local avian vet for an estimate to aspirate foot, I provided pictures & she estimated $400-$800. Which I think we can all agree is cray cray. Can I get a needle & draw out fluid? Idk what I should do, I’m at a loss.

I read your other thread, https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/bumblefoot-or-something-else-please.1458176/
In addition to the possible scaly leg mites, this may possibly be articular gout.
How old is the hen? Some birds may be genetically prone to gout, it can also have dietary causes. I would not try to aspirate. Do some reading on gout in poultry, and I would do some daily soaks in warm epsom salts, see it it helps any. If you suspect gout, there are others on the forum that have used sour cherry supplements to treat it.

I bought her off someone...idk maybe 5-6 years? It’s just the one foot. She was prone to kicking our fence occasionally. I called another vet & without seeing her, he said he wouldn’t open it up (you’re right) & guessing it’s a n injury of some sort & just wait & see without treatment. Ugh 🤦‍♀️
