This 3 week old chick got attacked by the adults and the first 3 pictures are when it happened, the rest are from last night. Happened on Sunday early early morning possibly the night before.

seems to have gotten better but one side of her is extremely swollen.

She’s eating, drinking and FULL of energy, chirping all day, either in pain or bc she wants out of the small box.
but I’m terrified to let her roam. Even inside the house bc I don’t wana follow and pick up poop.
I’ve let her walk and set up an area for her but she always makes her way and hits the ground, or the couch, I accidentally fell asleep once and she ended up on my chest.
She’s great, I’m just scared for her.

Please tell me what you think, if it’s swollen or flies got in, I’ve done my best to keep her EXTREMELY secure even though she isn’t happy about it.

I use Neosporin without pain reliever every day, try to cut as much fur as I can without hurting her.
I haven’t done much else.
She wants out but I need to know she’ll be okay and what this swollen part is.

It’s sad I can’t afford a vet, but I can order some things online.

At first I could only see ligaments around her neck, the adult must held her down, idk! I feel helpless and awful and regret even letting them near each other.

Please any and all opinions are amazing.
&PLEASE look at all the pictures!

Not an expert, but off the cuff it looks like his or her crop is expanded due to eating and is now really visible due to the missing skin.

My gut reaction is to keep this baby separate so someone doesn't peck it and injure it much worse.

Edit: on the plus side I think you are treating the wound very well! If baby stays active I'm hopeful the skin will just grow back over in time and you can plan how to reintegrate her later. Seeing the crop is scary but as long as it isn't pecked or torn that's going to be OK, imo.

You'll get expert answers soon so hang in there!
