Self Blue (Lavender) Silkie Thread

Two years ago I managed to cross with black by accident and then was advised that would be a good way to rid our cockerels of this off coloring..brassy color on wings that was seen often. Then we decided to cross different lines of blacks between several of us to mix up the gene pool. We were plesantly surpised to find the "lizards" hatching with strange fluff at hacth. Those chicks have given us extreamly DARK skin, eyes, beaks and a more solid lavender color. But honestly black was bred to rid us of the off color and not much to do with type or quality of birds.

I am VERY PROUD of where we are now and thankful that Deb and Donnie included me in this project.

I am so excited! Finally, my buff/splash/lav project has produced 11 baby silkies!!! Some are pure buff, some may be splash/buff, or buff/blue or lav/splash or lav/buff (porcelain). The little one with faint stripes on it has me curious...Anyone else hatch one with this down color?

Now that they are a little older is it possible to tell the sexes of my chicks?

this is that split lavender/partridge marking chick. I think this is a roo b/c he has biggest comb of all the birds. He also is still multicolored. Next to him (?) was egg marked blue splash..does this look blue splashed?

1st pic and last pics (Only guesses!!) Both Pullets

2nd pic a Blue Roo and a splash pullet from what I can see in the pic

3rd pic Buff Pullet and I can't tell on the other one.

If you could get individual pics from the side and front we could tell much better.
