Self Blue (Lavender) Silkie Thread

Jen,

I'm sorry but that chick is Blue. It might be split/lavender, but it is not a Lavender bird.

This was sold to me as a lavender!! There is no way that it isn't?????

Same with this one?? I got 2 dark ones out of the bunch.

The one to the left is supposed to be lav too. YES???

The dark one is not a lavender. The one on the left could possibly be, but I think I see splash markings in its crest; if it is a splash, it will develop more. There is a lot of confusion about lavenders, as some believe their diuted splashes are lavenders, partly because at hatch they look a solid self blue. Lavenders and many splashes look self blue on hatching, but splashes will develop splashing while lavenders will not.

Jen Im so sorry I am in complete agreement with the pros:-( Split probably-I mean no disresepct but maybe the breeder is confused on their genetics mayeb she meant to sell them as splits and should have crossed them to get lavs??

I know which breeder your talking about, and I would personally ask for a refund. She knows the difference, because she has pure Lavender Birds as well.

It's dishonest in my opinion.
