Self Blue (Lavender) Silkie Thread

I just thought that if I bought eggs and they ship them in this heat that when they get to me and I open the box they should all be looking at me and chirping! Lol!

No really, I received some around the end of June that were shipped from Washington and I had a great hatch rate so??

My lavender eggs in tw bator are in lockdown! Also my black pullet won champion feather legged and she will be going into my lavender and black breeding program.

Took a few pics in my baby pen today. I've been kind of ignoring them and trying to let them grow up a bit before I make too many cuts. My splash are still throwing those very light ones. Not sure if they will color out more or not. I know they carry the lavender in their background. Most will probably be sold off this fall since I don't have room for AOV's.

Kind of interesting.... two of those lil off color oddballs that missed my cut as a day old. They are out of my splash pen too.

Sweet lil bitties! I love them at that age, they start getting their personalities and are so funny.
BIG CONGRATS on the win!! Super kewl.

Dont want to hijac the thread, BUT I have a question I hope some of the genetic gurus can help with. I've read several threads here regarding whites, and believe it was either Deb or ??? who started out with whites and progressed with lavender as the final result. I've got 4 gorgeous white silkies from a fellow BYC'r who are lavender splits, one of which is a showgirl. I have lav split eggs in bator, but REALLY need some help and guidance from the "more experienced" breeders on here. What will I get by breeding the lav split whites to eachother? I know white is a masking color, but??? Should I even bother keeping them in the program, or would I be able to use them to advance a little? I'm kinda confused since most are working with blacks/splits, and I cant find ANYONE who has eggs they are willing to part with. Help

Look at all those pretty babies! Are you breeding Splash to Splash to Blue to Splash? Blue to Splash will darken up your Splash offspring. They are pretty either way. I prefer the light splash.

My splash are the older Bobbi Porto/ George M. lines and they do carry the lavendar. Unfortunately these are all splash/splash crosses. All my blues were stolen back in late April. I put one of my splash cocks on 4 of my black hens to get a few more blues. Still in the rebuilding phase. I was hoping these lil buggers start to show that they are actually splash. Lav's and those pastel looking ones are culled out here. I can't wait til its cool enough to ship or those 2 would have had new homes already.
