Self Blue (Lavender) Silkie Thread

Quote:
4 months is way to young for silkies. They mature slower then other breeds(at least the exhibition ones do), my birds are never ready to show until they are at least 6 months and that's pushing it sometimes. It takes months for pin feathers to finish especially in the crest, tail and body.

Your whites are very nice, keep them in condition, and give them some time, then give them a run for their money

Thanks for all the great comments! I need tips on how to clean I white silkie like a step by step of what exactly to do. The reason why is because I got two free Whites and they are dirty and I want to show them. I need to clean them so how would I go about doing this. Any whitening tips?

There is also a dog shampoo with bluing agent that helps with the white or you can add a little dawn to the bath water.

Thanks for all the info! I know my birds conditioning could be a tad better but I am still going to show them on the 17th
