Hatch from lav x lav/splits has apparently ended. Eight out of twelve hatched; two are lavs, one is a nice dark blue, one is white, and four are "mutts." Most have high vaulted skulls, and all have good toes. Three mutts appear to be silver partridge and the other a regular partridge. I'm not going to open the remaining eggs to see, as they made it right up to pipping. They are still in the running 'bator, but I have no hope. I'm getting an occasional white babe out of my lav pens; always with at least one split, and usually very nice babes. This one's father is a full lav.
The buff hatch has started; one babe is out and the other three have pipped. The second may be out by now. The three lavs show no sign of pipping so far, and this is day 21. These are from the beautiful birds I got from Bren at Shawnee. I'd forgotten that two of the nine quit developing early; but the others all looked like they'd hatch.
Very happy with what I'm getting, 'though!
